Do you want to use your bioscience knowledge and business development expertise to help a world leading scientific institute, a centre of the UK's regulator, improve public health?

We have an opportunity or experienced business development professionals who are passionate about public health to use their business development expertise and bioscience knowledge to increase the uptake of NIBSC's products and services and help deliver NIBSC's mission in a financially sustainable manner.

The organisation:

NIBSC is a world-renowned global leader in the characterisation, standardisation and control of biological medicines such as vaccines and blood products, developing assays and performing tests to assess their quality and safety, and developing and distributing over 90% of the primary ‘gold standard’ physical reference materials that are the cornerstone of global harmonisation for these important medicines.

What this role offers you:

This is an excellent career development opportunity as you will gain a breadth of business-related experience. You can make a genuine contribution to public health whilst working alongside global scientific experts. One of the roles would suit a Technology Transfer expert from an academic background.

The successful candidate will engage with existing and potential customers and stakeholders; identify, assess, pursue and negotiate business and licensing enquiries/opportunities in the UK and internationally in line with agreed strategic objectives; play a key role in the interface with the Communications division, developing NIBSC’s external global communications activities, manage NIBSC’s Intellectual Property portfolio and contribute to the development of future business strategies, models, plans and infrastructure.
You will manage the Institute’s business development operation to provide business advice, business intelligence, pricing information, and other support, ensuring that guidance, templates and training for Institute staff is provided, and producing regular reports monitoring progress against targets.

About you:

Ideally you will have a first degree in bioscience or a related subject, and considerable experience within a business, marketing and/or knowledge/technology role, in the bioscience/healthcare sector.

You will be adept at planning, project management and the production of documentation, able to implement systems and processes and assess and report on progress against set objectives. More important will be your interpersonal and communication skills and your ability to influence and advise stakeholders.
