The CPRD Division has an exciting opportunity available to join their team as a Clinical Data Manager responsible for developing and delivering data management plans.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (the agency) enhances and improves the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research. CPRD, jointly funded by the agency and the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), is the UK’s preeminent research service providing access to anonymised NHS data for research. CPRD services are designed to maximise the way anonymised NHS clinical data can be used to improve and safeguard public health.
Purpose of the role:
CPRD is facing growing demand for its innovative real world data services which are designed to improve efficiency of patient recruitment and clinical study management. The Clinical Data Manager is responsible for developing and delivering data management plans encompassing the collection and processing of electronic health records (EHR) and other electronic clinical data, to the provision of analysis-ready data for studies supported by CPRD real world clinical services. Responsibilities include: mapping study data requirements and specifying data collection variables to meet study needs; quality assurance of data collection including validation and monitoring; study database testing; and input into data extraction and database configuration.
The post is based within the Interventional Research team and reports to the Real World Studies Planning Manager. The post holder will work closely with members of the Interventional Research team, staff across CPRD and will liaise with external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate:
We are seeking a self-starter with previous experience in a clinical data manager role. You will be proficient in use of Electronic Data Capture systems in clinical studies; have a track record of producing and delivering data management plans; and have the personal attributes to effectively engage with colleagues and stakeholders.
