The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Degree or further education qualification in either a computer science or IT-based subject. 
  • In depth knowledge of using an object-orientated or scripting programming language, such as but not limited to .NET, Java, or Python, to develop re-usable test libraries.
  • Experience of using open source tools such as Selenium for front-end automation and RestAssured for API testing, and using a build automation tool, such as Maven or Gradle.
  • Experience of testing and validating stored procedures, jobs, and triggers in backend databases such as Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Creative self-starter, solution focused, able to demonstrate initiative and effectively deal with requirements ambiguity to develop pragmatic test solutions that focus on researcher needs.
  • Good written and communications skills, competent at producing high quality reports and explaining complex technical concepts in plain language to non-technical audiences.
