Person requirements:
Qualifications:
· A degree in Biological Science or equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience
· Further relevant postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
Experience:
· Substantial post graduate work experience in a laboratory environment and have extensive experience of laboratory management.
· Experience of resource management and procurement
· Good working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements relating to the laboratory environment and legislation.
· Experience of controlling budgets.
· Experience of working under quality systems.
· Experience of line management and training.
· An understanding of HR processes and Equality and Diversity.
· Knowledge of H&S regulations.
· Knowledge of budget management processes
· Must be able to work completely on own initiative with objectives set by Head of Division.
· Possess exceptional organisational skills to ensure that administration for the group runs smoothly.
· Must be able to "think on feet" and have a creative approach to problem solving.
· Excellent negotiating skills and diplomacy.
· Must be able to deal with multiple interruptions and switch from task to task while maintaining a high level of concentration
