We are looking to recruit an exceptional Events Manager to work in our Strategic Communications and Marketing team.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (the Agency) enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research. We do this through the work of our three expert business centres; the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), the National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) and the MHRA regulatory centre (MHRA).
The role sits within the strategic communications and marketing (SCM) team, which is part of the communications division which serves the whole Agency. The purpose of the SCM team is to develop and implement communications strategies to support agency-wide projects, market and promote the agency and the three centres in order to increase the organisation’s profile and reputation on a national and global level and to increase income.
The successful candidate will deliver the Agency’s events, exhibitions and speaker opportunity programme (the events programme), ensuring the delivery of high quality, successful events that contribute to raising the profile of the Agency and growing its reputation, both nationally and internationally.
You will plan and deliver our own events as well as exhibiting at other people’s events mainly in the UK but also including some international events. Our events programme comprises flagship events, symposia, webinars, launch events, information sharing workshops and networking events. We use the latest digital technology to enhance our offering and create memorable, accessible, high impact events.
The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering a programme of large conferences, events and seminars to targeted audiences using project management methodology. You will be comfortable with costings, income and expenditure and budgeting for events and be proficient in the marketing and promoting of events.
Additionally, you will have the behaviours required to be a success in this role - strong communication skills, adept at building and maintaining relationships and the resilience to deal with challenge and resistance.
