We are currently looking for an Internal Communications Advisor to join our Communications and Engagement Function within the Enablement group.

This is a full-time opportunity, on a 14 month fixed term contract basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.  

Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.

We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.  

The MHRA Communications and Engagement Function is a multi-award-winning team that has a consistent track record of achievement and providing value for money. Our focus is to support the MHRA to deliver its business outcomes by putting patients and the public at the centre of all our work. We are organised in the following teams: News & Media, Communications, Patient and Public Stakeholder Engagement and Customer Experience. This role is in our Communications team.

The Internal Communications team develops and delivers relevant and engaging content from across the organisation and shares this with our staff. The team manages all our internal communication channels including the intranet and a programme of staff events.

 

What’s the role?

·       To support and develop effective staff communication and engagement in the agency, as part of the Communication group’s Internal Communications team. 

·       The role requires someone who can confidently and proactively support and deliver a programme of engagement activity with staff, utilising and developing creative content for a range of existing and emerging channels, deliver the communications aspects of large change initiatives, and support the coordination of our diverse engagement events programme.

·       The candidate will be a team player who can participate in diverse teams and work on their own initiative to lead the delivery of a range of communication and engagement activities.

 

Key responsibilities: 

·       Create engaging and informative content for various internal communication channels, including newsletters, intranet, emails, and digital signage.

·       Support the delivery of internal communications campaigns and employee engagement strategy.

·       Coordinate a series of internal events including: all staff meetings, line managers conference and leadership events.

·       Develop visual content such as infographics, videos, and presentations to enhance the effectiveness and engagement of internal communications.

 

Who are we looking for? 

 

Our successful candidate will: 

·       Experience - Experience of delivering internal communications and stakeholder engagement projects to a high standard, using a variety of different tools and techniques

·       Experience - Experience of working under pressure and at pace and developing and delivering communications materials and projects to a high standard.

·       Experience - Experience organising and supporting the delivery of both remote and in person events, ideally on a large scale to enable staff engagement.

·       Technical - Strong editorial skills, with a proven understanding of what makes a good news story and interesting, accessible content

·       Technical - Experience using digital channels including social media and web content management system
