MHRA Laboratories Inspectors are uniquely placed to use their knowledge and skills in a wide range of laboratory facilities, making a real impact on protecting the safety of the public and the environment. The main purpose of this role is to conduct laboratory inspections assessing compliance of facilities across a number of regulatory areas depending on the technical speciality of the successful applicant.

You will have extensive experience in one or more GXP environments, which should include time in an operational and/or quality setting, and have expert knowledge of techniques commonly used in laboratories such as:

• GMP batch release (analytical chemistry, biological assays, microbiological and sterility testing)

• Bioanalysis

• Safety testing of chemicals

The role is accountable to the Operations Manager GLPMA and Laboratories Group and will require the successful candidate to perform various types of laboratory inspections across multiple regulatory requirements, therefore a flexible approach is required

You will be suitably qualified, have well developed IT skills and the ability to write clear well focussed penetrating reports and, crucially, the ability to analyse and identify issues, make sound decisions and take appropriate actions tactfully and effectively.

Although primarily home based the role involves travelling extensively around the UK and potentially overseas. Although required to work unsupervised for long periods of time, you will be joining a team with a strong collective ethos.

To be successful in the role you will have a range of skills, behaviours and experience that are uniquely suited to delivering our required outcomes. You will be a team player, focussed on delivering results efficiently, professionally and in a timely manner.  You will have the resilience, communication and influencing skills required for periods working unsupervised on-site with stakeholders and customers.
