We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands on Stock Controller to join our friendly team.


A centre of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, The National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) is a global leader in the characterisation, standardisation and control of biological medicines.

 

The Centre for Biological Reference Materials (CBRM) is our specialist facility for Sales, Production and Dispatch with Stock Control functioning as the hub of the operation. The Centre is responsible for producing biological standard reference materials, many of which are promoted to World Health Organization International Standards, and some of which gain the CE mark.

 

In this role you will ensure the safe storage and movement of these unique materials, using temperature-controlled containment facilities and regularly updated electronic databases. You will play a crucial role in enabling the scientific departments to plan the research, study and production of reference materials. As well as bulk storage of these materials the Stock Controller manages the storage of archive samples of reference materials which date back to 1948, and the off-site storage of contingency stocks of International Standards which will enable business continuity, should disaster strike at NIBSC.

 

The successful candidate will have proven experience working in a quality-controlled environment, excellent customer service and communication skills. You should have a working knowledge of health and safety, be able to write reports, SOPS, and policies. Candidates invited to interview will be expected to prepare a presentation.
